Enjoyed the shrimp dip, the server did warn it was made with horseradish and served cold. We shared the seafood platter for two blackened! Best meal we've had all week and we've toured the coast. Huge portions with 4 sides to choose.

OMG - I've been sitting here an HOUR and I haven't gotten my entre yet?!! Tip 1. Don't order fried green tomatoes. Took forever to get the appetizer. Go with the beer cheese dip. It has to be already made and served quicker. Tip 2. Call it in. Maybe, just maybe, you'll get your order in a reasonable time. Better, go Mex or order a pizza because this place is a fail.

Great food! We had the fried seafood platter for 2. The grouper was wonderful. Daughter had broiled shrimp that was delicious too. Fast service too.

Had lunch today from the special menu. It was average at best!! The restaurant was out of control!! Cashier cleaning tables people waiting to check out!! Waiters poorly trained! My guess is this place is on it's way OUT!!! The 5 star rating on the outside of the building is 4 stars OFF! Last time for me!

This is a great restaurant for lunch or dinner. The fried shrimp, clam chowder and sweet tea are my absolute favorites! The whole fried flounder is a must if you've never seen or eaten a whole fish before - it's spectacular! The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. They recently renovated - beachy decor and comfortable seating. Two thumbs up!!

We ate at the Marina last night and left happy customers. Three in our party ordered the whole fried flounder. I had the fried crab cake and fried shrimp. While I don't normally go for fried foods, they weren't greasy and the seafood really stood out.

Do not go to this place!!! If you do, be prepared for cold food, rubbery scallops and tilapia re-labeled as something else! The "waitress" might be a man, has a scraggily appearance and smells like the Marlboro man! Again, do not eat here! Never!!!

We visited the Marina for dinner with the family. We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and family friendliness. My kids were supplied with coloring crayons and had good options on the kids menus. The staff were excellent with timeliness and even brought extra noodles for hungry children. I also appreciated the crab dip as an appetizer that was not expected. The fish was well prepared and cheese grits were tasty. All in all we had a great experience. It's not fine dining but great all around choice.

Food was good but atmosphere more like a Greek restaurant or breakfast nook with its dark paneling and paper placemats. It was a little like a diner or Chinese restaurant atmosphere.

Great food.....and fabulous service. I tried to find something wrong with my meal and I couldn't. Everything was prepared perfectly and was hot. Thanks for the great service!!!!

Nice little street corner restaurant. Decor is dated, but I think that brings out the identity of the place. Don't know but it seemed rather nostalgic. Had the broiled seafood platter. Overall it was OK, the shrimp was rather overdone. The great note was the dip and crackers at the table. Frankly, they could have provided that on a hoagie roll and I would have been set. The service here is top notch and very friendly, that I enjoyed. Would I go back? Probably for the dip and a sandwich just because the service was so good. You felt at home here.

Best fried shrimp on the island! The sides are wonderful, southern cooking at is finest.

Didn't enjoy our food at all. The shrimp dip appetizer was a cold dip heavy with horseradish and serves with crackers. We didn't eat it. My crab cakes were not lump but minced and I ordered fried and found them not flavorful and dry. I ate 1/2 of the 1 and left the second one untouched. The sangria was also disappointing. The waitress friendly. That would be my overall positive. Sorry we went there with so many choices on the island.

My wife and I have eaten here regularly during our many trips to Fernandina Beach and Amelia Island. It is located in the historic downtown area acoss the street from the docks. The Marina offers an array of seafood choices, and their fried shrimp and oyster combo platter is my favorite, along with their shrimp and crab dip appetizer. The restaurant is family owned, and the staff is always attentive. The interior was remodeled in 2013 to give the restaurant a slightly newer look, but it is the same great seafood.

A quiet homey place w/ mature waitresses and a family feel. I had the grilled crabcakes w/ baked potato. Not bad, but definately not my wife's or Barbara Jeans. Think I'll try their special next time. I overheard the guy in the next booth say it was great. I'll try them again.

Nice staff, moderate cleanliness, broiled fish sandwich good but garnishes, bun, presentation of food poor. Way overpriced as well.

The staff is very friendly but the food is terrible and way over priced. We started off with oysters on the half shell which we sent back because they tasted old. The seafood augratin had pasta in it as a filler and the pasta potato salad was just plain weird. Worst restaurant I've ever been to

Not fine dining. Service was mediocre. Flounder was tasty, but a potato with package to butter and packaged sour cream leaves me unimpressed. My daughter was thrilled to get a teddy bear out of the treasure box.

The simple order of basket of fried shrimp was some of the best $17 I spent on vacation. I never had shrimp this good. I was visiting my aunt, uncle and cousin in Jacksonville when I complained about coming down to Florida and people taking me to Joe's Crab Shack and Bubba Gump's. They immediatly wanted to take me here and the inlaws jumped at driving here too. The whole trip there I heard about how this town has the THE shrimp festival and this is the best restaurant for shrimp in the best city for shrimp mobile.shrimpfestival.com My expectations were high and met by this simple basket of shrimp, fries and cole slaw. I would say it was perfect, but it cost $17- still I will return (hopefully during the festival).

Judging by the yelp reviews, it sounded fabulous. I ordered the garlic butter grouper, and got a very fresh grouper, but had no garlic or butter. It had some Cajun or crab spice that I didn't care for. The salad was wilted iceberg lettuce, and the coleslaw was very wet and soggy. Not at all what I expected. My partner's shrimp and scallops were tiny, and had basically the same spices as my fish. The waiters never came back to check on us, so we were hungry and ate. Will never return.

My husband and I have lived "part time" on the island for 5 years and we never tried Marina until tonight. The decor made the place warm and very homey; it was beautifully done for Christmas. The service was friendly and attentive. My husband ordered the fried fish and crab and it was delicious. Usually fried food tastes heavy and greasy but the fish and my fried green tomatoes were light with no greasy aftertaste. Will definitely return.

Great food, friendly and attentive service. Not a place to get a glass of wine with your meal, but a good, local place. We will definitely be back.

Maybe the oldest place in Amelia, very welcoming and good.

So at 6:30 on a not-crowded Wednesday night, what seafood joint runs out of BOTH scallops AND clams? Messing up the back of the house that badly almost takes a special talent. The food here (at least what they did have) was ok -- neither bad nor good. The menu offerings were entirely typical of what one imagines for a tourist area seafood spot. But to be clear: this is the breaded-and-fried type of 'seafood,' not the healthy-for-you 'seafood.' The Chilean Sea Bass that has been ubiquitous across much of the last decade-plus across America has not found its way to this grill yet. Wait ... do they have a grill here? The wait staff came across as polite, friendly and folksy -- it is a generally warm atmosphere. If you are hankering for a pile of fried stuff from the ocean, this is your spot. Landlubbers need not apply, but gluten-free paleo types need not either.

Today was my first visit to this restaurant and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff was very attentive and courteous. I had a four course meal at a reasonable and affordable price. The food was delicately seasoned, which allowed me to taste the actual food and not a barrage of condiments. The meal portions were moderate to large and fresh. The atmosphere was wonderful and clean, including the restroom. The reason I gave this restaurant four stars and not five is because my shrimp were overcooked and I would like to see more vegetables on the menu. Otherwise, my meal was delicious. I will definitely eat there again.

Have been coming here for years and still very good. Calamari was yummy and fried oysters were great. Kids loved the cheese burger and shrimp basket. Nice folks, gave my toddler a matchbox car.

I stopped here to eat while attending a conference nearby. Staff was very friendly and the food was very good. It is a small business, and prices were ok($15 for fried shrimp dinner w salad and potato). Everything was good. Casual dining.

I first came here over twenty years ago when I was a kid and I fell in love with their shrimp burger. Seriously, I have thought about it for over two decades. I've been back and I can say that the shrimp burger actually lived up to all the inflation the memory can apply! It was just as good as it ever was. However, that alone isn't what earned the five stars. My father is diabetic and when we arrived he was having a reaction. His blood sugar had really dropped and he wasn't doing great. While I parked the car my mom asked them if they could bring over some orange juice as soon as possible. They whisked it right over and were genuinely concerned about his well-being. They checked on us several times and didn't dally in bringing out our lunch. They were so sweet and attentive that it just made the meal that much more enjoyable. I will make a point to stop in here for a shrimp burger and sweet southern hospitality any and every time I find myself here on this fantastic island!

Set in an old building from maybe the 1800s freshly remodeled inside keeping with the architecture building. Clean and rustic food was very good. Husband had grouper fingers basket with coleslaw and jalapeno hush puppies. Coleslaw rivals the best of coleslaw's which would be KFC's. I had the veggie platter mashed potatoes corn and a blueberry deep-fried turnover with cucumber salad all of it was very good. Fried Green tomatoes were great strongly recommend the fried green tomatoes. A must see place to eat while in Fernanda beach

This is a very reasonable restaurant with great service and the food is fantastic. Our fried seafood dinner for two came with whitefish clam strips fried oysters blue crab cakes, hush puppies shrimp and four sides you can choose from 6 sides offered. When you first arrive you get a complimentary order of seafood spread with crackers homemade and very very fresh. We visit the area once a year and eat here a couple of times during our visit. We are never disappointed. We always look forward to seeing Deb and Patty and Trish the owner is very nice as well.

We had their famous seafood platter for two in addition to a chicken fry basket (kids) and a fish Fillets (grouper) plate. They are truly the best tasting seafood in the area!!

Great service. The location is excellent. Food is original sounding but not dazzling. We had a po boy and shrimp burger which sounded great but was just OK. The cheese grits are outstanding and were the best part of the meal. I will say again, the service was great.

This restaurant has a great location but it sure needs a little help. Food was good...well prepared but nothing outstanding. House salad was iceberg lettuce with little added except dressing. Fish was okay. Scallops were little bitty and didn't seem to have much flavor. Paper placemats with ads from local attorneys and car washes seemed to bring down the atmosphere. This place looks like one of parents favorite places from the 50's. They need to get into the 21st century if they want to survive.

  • Tricia W.

The fried grouper, crab dip and crab cakes were fresh and excellent. The broiled shrimp and scallops were small and drowning in butter. The cheese grits were soupy due to too much butter. The hush puppies and fried shrimp were average. Fried scallops were not good. Carpet seemed nasty and old. Building is old but has character. Great location. Understaffed the night we went.

Quaint, small and personable restaurant in Historic Fernandina Beach. The service was very attentive, greeted as soon as we walked in. The food was very, very good! My husband and I had shrimp baskets. Shrimp had the most favorable taste, hush puppies were great, not greasy like chain restaurants. Take time to stop in and eat here. You won't regret it!

My group had broiled stuffed fish and broiled shrimp dishes. The really liked the food. Two of us had crab cakes - the were 60% bread I had to really look hard for the meat. They kind of reminded me of the stuffing in deviled crab. SKIP the crab cakes.

My rating is my personal opinion but you may like it. We just weren't impressed enough. I ordered the grouper with capers and usually I like dishes that use capers, but this one, I found hard to like. I wanted to order a soft-shell crab sandwich but when I inquired the waitress what else was in it, she said, it's just the bread and the crab. So, I ordered the soft-shell crab appetizer instead (which was a single crab without the bread). Later, when we ate at Bonito Sushi and Grill, I realized that Marina's soft-shell crab appetizer was a joke. I paid somewhere around 10 bucks for it whereas Bonito had a delicious soft-shell crab sandwich (with garnishes and sidings) for the same amount. So, you know where to go when you're craving for soft-shell crab... definitely not at Marina.

My group of 7 visited here a few days ago. We were seated at a table that was much too small for our group, and asked if we could move (they said it could fit 8, but I'm thinking they were referring to at least four of those being children) and we waited at least 15 minutes to be moved. We waited over an hour for our food. That's not okay to me. I had the fried shrimp, which I don't have any complaints about. My boyfriend ordered the coconut shrimp for us to share as an appetizer, and changed his mind when he saw 6 little shrimp on the plate for $9. It just wasn't worth it. The rest of my group enjoyed their food, but said that their portions were too small for the price. We were all just ready to go by the time we got it. The restaurant itself was cute and beachy, but there are other cute restaurants here that offer much better service.

Neat historic place, super friendly staff, but sub-par food. I did enjoy the mashed potatoes! Cold beer too.

  • Mark T.

I should have known to walk out as soon as the greeter/seater did not even get off her cell phone as she seated us. The food was quite sub-par. The broiled fish in the seafood platter was so overdone as to have even less texture than flavor. The tiny shrimp were hardly appetizing either. The entire presentation was more akin to a cheap franchise dining experience than any kind of truly enjoyable seafood night out. Getting my plate and seeing a good half of the seafood sampler hidden by french fries should have raised red flags too. The only portion of the meal I enjoyed was the small bowl of cole slaw the waitress brought us before the travesty of the entrees. Pass on this place; just because it is close to the beach does not make it a good seafood place.
